Hi!

Haylee Hartung is a graduate from the University of Rhode Island, Harrington School of Communications as a Film Media and Journalism double major. She has angled her college career in the direction of editing and grip/gaffer during her time on set. Haylee has been a part of numerous video internships and independent studies which has given her the ability to experience film from many different spectrums and produce an array of work. She has worked on several narrative and documentary projects of her own and taken on numerous roles to broaden her knowledge.
Haylee has been employed at the Harrington Media Equipment Center for three years at URI. Here, she is able to provide her expertise and studies in a professional setting. She is responsible for overseeing the Harrington School’s equipment, assist customers with troubleshooting film equipment, and conduct database administration with Cheqroom.
Outside of school, Haylee takes her talents to the Rhode Island National Guard where she is a Public Affairs Specialist. To reach this point, she had attended the Defense Information School and was enrolled in the Mass Communications foundations course. During this training, Haylee was required to learn and apply design thinking principles utilizing the fundamentals of journalistic writing, still photography, videography, digital graphic design, and interactive multimedia in her products. Haylee continues to use these skills in her military and personal career.
